Pop star who posed in suicide vest quits showbiz after 'revenge porn' leaked

A Pakistani female pop star who shocked fans by posing in a suicide vest has announced she is quitting her singing career after nude photographs and videos of her were leaked onto the internet.

Rabi Pirzada, 30, a Pakistani singer who went viral for the stunt, announced in a tweet on Monday that she was "quitting showbiz".

She added: "May Allah forgive my sins. And soften the hearts of people in my favour."

Her decision to leave entertainment comes days after her nudes went viral.

It isn't clear how the videos and photos were made public, but one theory is it was leaked by a jealous ex-boyfriend as an act of "revenge porn".

But others have speculated that Pirzada was targeted for her controversial political statements.

Pirzada had previously attracted media attention for her controversial statements aimed at Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as New Delhi's decision to revoke Kashmir's special status.

In a series of posts, she compared India's nationalist PM to Adolf Hitler and threatened to kill him.

It comes after months of tension between the two nuclear powers India and Pakistan.

Reportedly, she also handed her phone over to authorities for inspection — implying she was the victim of a hack.

Last month, Pirzada shared a photograph of herself wearing a suicide vest, along with the hashtag #ModiHitler.

She later defended her social media post by saying it was in protest against India's actions in Kashmir.

Earlier, in September, Pirzada posted a video of herself posing with snakes and crocodiles.

In the bizarre video, she said she would "feast" on India's Prime Minister Modi.
